S&P and Dow close higher for 6th consecutive day


7-day NASDAQ win streak shattered today

The S&P squeaked a higher close. The Dow industrial average also closed higher. The day’s gains extended the bullish streak to 6 consecutive days. The NASDAQ index’s streak of 7 consecutive higher close was broken as it fell nearly 1% on the day.

A look at the final numbers shows:

  • The S&P index rose 2.12 points or 0.06% to 3351.532
  • The NASDAQ index closed down 97.09 points or -0.87% at 11,010.98
  • The Dow industrial average closed up 47.74 points or 0.17% at 27,434.72

The Dow Jones had its best week since June 5. The S&P Index at its best week since July 2.

For the week, the main indices closed higher with the Dow Jones in the lead with an increase of 3.81%.
