European stocks finish lower that day

Major Indices Catched Up On Friday’s US Fall
The main European indices were closed on Friday due to the May 1 holiday. US stocks fell sharply that day. Today was a “catch-up” for the main European indices (at least in part).
The provisional closings show:
- German Dax -3.6%
- French CAC -4.4%
- UK FTSE 100, -0.2% (UK markets were open on Friday)
- Spanish ibex -4.5%
- FTSE MIB in Italy, -3.0%
In the European debt market, the 10-year benchmark yields end the session, with the yields of most countries being in the middle of the trading ranges. Italian 10-year rates were significantly higher at 1.869%, but rallied at the close and closed the session down to 1.751%.
